Energy Distribution
At a glance
A Biodynamic concept describing how life energy or vitality is thought to move through, or become blocked in, different areas of the body — with even, flowing distribution treated as a marker of health.
Evidence status
Like several concepts in this tradition, “energy” here is used in the Reichian sense — a clinical and phenomenological framework, not a term with an agreed physiological referent in contemporary science. Treat it as a useful internal metaphor this tradition uses to talk about vitality and aliveness, not a literal energetic measurement.
The disability question
“Uneven distribution” language can easily map onto areas of reduced sensation, paralysis, or limited movement in a way that reads a real physical difference as a psychological blockage. A disabled body’s actual physical structure is not evidence of poorly distributed vitality — vitality and aliveness can be entirely intact in a body that simply doesn’t move or sense uniformly.
