Room to
be whole.
I’m Casey — a disabled psychotherapist, researcher and writer exploring what happens when psychotherapy actually makes room for disabled lives. If you’re looking for therapy, understanding, professional learning, research, or simply language for something you’ve experienced, you’re welcome here.

Start from where
you actually are.
When therapy gets
it wrong.
Psychology matters. So do bodies, relationships, access, culture and systems. The interesting work is learning to tell what we’re actually looking at.
See the full pattern →Why I keep asking
these questions.
I keep asking these questions because I know how powerful therapy can be when someone feels genuinely understood, and how confusing it can become when a good theory is applied too quickly. Living with disability, training and working as a psychotherapist, and being involved in research have made me curious about the same thing: what are we actually looking at? Is this personal, relational, bodily, or shaped by the world around someone? Often, it is more than one. I’m not interested in throwing psychology away. I’m interested in making it more curious, accurate, and able to hold disabled lives fully.
Sometimes the work is
outside the therapy room.
Reflection can help. So can a boundary. An accommodation. Better information. A safer environment. An advocate. A working lift.
Therapy should be able to recognise the difference.
One question to
take with you.
Think about something that’s difficult at the moment.
- What part of this is mine?
- What belongs to somebody else?
- What is happening between us?
- What belongs to the system around us?
You don’t have to choose only one.

Explore. Change.
Whichever door you came in through, there’s a place here built for you.
Understand
Understand disability and psychotherapy: models, theory and the ideas this whole project is built on.
Explore theory →Explore
Grief, shame, embodiment, self-advocacy — reflection and lived experience, from the inside of it.
Explore resources →Change
Use tools in therapy and supervision: checklists, reflection prompts and worksheets that move from ideas to clinical practice.
